Beliefs

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:42-47)

The Name of our church is One80.  The passion behind this name is that Christ is the only One that can turn a life around!

(ONE-80) “When you need to turn your life around!”

Vision

As I began to pray for vision God impressed this picture upon my heart. Standing in the foyer of 2820 “O” Street, I saw a great number of individuals lined up at the North doors of the building in single file. These were individuals from diverse backgrounds and ever walk of life that were waiting to enter. As the doors opened and each individual entered they were given a new set of clothes and a sword! The Lord spoke and revealed that the new clothes identified transformation and the sword represented being equipped for ministry! As quickly as they entered, they exited the North doors of the building and were sent forth to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God!

Statement

One80 was birthed to reach the entire community for the Kingdom of God by exercising Faith, Hope and Love!

  1. We are determined to allow faith be our banner. We want to offer hope for individuals and families. We must model love regardless of the circumstances!
  2. Reaching the Lost is essential.
  3. Our environment will enhance a constant interaction between followers of Christ and non-followers!
  4. We will create an atmosphere that provides apologetic teaching and training.

Mission

Our Mission is to naturally advance the Kingdom of God by imitating Jesus right where we are! We are called to fulfill the Great Commission and:

  • We desire for individuals to encounter Christ through supernatural experiences! As a result, we will provide an atmosphere that teaches individuals to understand why they believe what they believe! (Matthew 28:18-20)

Values

Pillar 1

To Love and Be Loved: Belowed, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7)

  • Love is the antithesis of all things godly! Love is God’s motive for all creation. We are deeply loved by God and we are commanded to love each other in the same manner that God has expressed his love to us! This is a critical value and must be at the fore-front of where, how and who we serve!

Pillar 2

To Know and Be Known: Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you? You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. (2 Corinthians 3:1-2)

  • It is our human mission to know God and make Him known! In so doing we will make ourselves accessible and vulnerable to one another! In order to experience authentic relationships with God, and each other, our hearts must remain open and we must possess a willingness to be exposed!

Pillar 3

To Serve and Be Served: For you were called to freedom brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love, serve one another. (Galatians 5:13)

  • This pillar holds that we have been saved and set free by Christ to offer him glory! This glory is best exercised when we recognize that we all have a divine responsibility to minister!

Pillar 4

To Celebrate and Be Celebrated

  • Individuals will be acknowledged and recognized for their successes! We must enhance the dignity of the human experience by celebrating as an individual moves forward on their personal journey of Advancing the Kingdom of God!

Pillar 5

To Understand Our Creator and Be Creative

  • We are only limited by our own creativity. God is the creator and He has imparted that capacity to us!
